As an Editor at GB News, you will play a key role in shaping GB News’ coverage across the day and evening. You will need an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of news production and editorial content creation.

As an Editor at GB News – your role is hands on – you will be expected to jump into the control room for big breaking news stories, output shows and make quick editorial decisions.

You will be required to assign tasks to team members to prepare, produce and broadcast the editorial content.

You must be able to identify stories as they happen and be able to direct the news and production team to create content around those stories.

It is essential you have good knowledge of Ofcom and media law.

Responsibilities

· Leading & managing a team of Assistant Editors & Producers to create daily news programmes

· Building rundowns in Dina

· Outputting shows in the control room

· Liaise with and manage on-screen talent

· Identifying stories to cover and assigning to members of the team

· Creating compelling story treatments

· Developing programme ideas including coverage of major events

· Identifying new talent including both contributors and presenters
